GT Jazz Ensemble Auditions

We have a fantastic group of young musicians here at Towson High School, and each year we look forward to welcoming a few new students into the GT Jazz Ensemble. 

Current students and rising freshmen who are excited about jazz, improvisation, and jazz ensemble playing are encouraged to audition. 

Similar to Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble is a 1.0 credit class that meets during the school day — Towson High is one of the few schools in BCPS to offer Jazz Ensemble as a full academic-course experience. 9th grade students are able to enroll in both Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble (even LPP students). In some cases, this may require shifting GYM to 10th or 11th grade or completing GYM online through CCBC — an option that several high-achieving THS students choose each year.

Jazz Ensemble auditions will be held at the end of March 2026 for the following school year. Students may audition in person or submit a video audition. Contact Mr. Olin, jolin@bcps.org, with questions.
